It is a special way to welcome your new addition into your family and community.

Naming ceremonies, similar to Christenings, but more personal and individualised, are sometimes held shortly after the birth of the child. There is no age limit to naming ceremonies and some families prefer to wait and name all their children at the same time in a special ceremony.

Another idea is to hold the ceremony on the child’s first birthday and include it as a part of the celebrations. Godparents or Mentors who promise to provide a special supportive relationship with the child are chosen by the parents.
